LEGO® Serious Play®

and group dynamics

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method is a set of facilitation techniques that speeds up collective thinking and decision-making. It allows us to tackle complex projects and team or organizational issues more quickly. .

Thinking with your hands and learning to learn

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method invites you to ‘think with your hands’ to get out of your comfort zone and be creative while having fun.

It is built on 4 key steps that correspond to the way the brain learns: 1) Ask a question 2) Construct the answer 3) Share your answer 4) Consider and learn.

Building with LEGO® bricks allows you to model abstract concepts, skills and feelings in 3D. It becomes easier to share them with others, as metaphor and storytelling, while including the emotional dimension.

A structured dynamic from the individual to the collective

During a workshop with the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method, the core process is translated into specific techniques. The facilitator design them according to the team’s objective.

The workshop always progress from sharing individual models to assembling them into a collective model. This gives a systemic vision of the subject, while representing everyone’s point of view.

Self-development in team dynamic

Through this structured team dynamic, the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method facilitates openness, knowledge sharing and fair communication. It leads to problem solving and cooperation, especially within multicultural teams.

The use of system models simulation enables systemic intelligence and strategy making, which encourages initiative, negotiation and innovation.

At the end of the workshop the participants leave with more confidence, cohesion and with a clear vision of the ‘simple guiding principles’ for their future action.  which they will be ready to translate into an action plan.

Our added value

We combine the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method with other approaches to group dynamics and individual behaviour such as the Neurocognitive and Behavioural Approach to build workshops that are as close as possible to your team’s needs.

We use the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method before innovation approaches such as Design Thinking and Game Thinking. The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method accelerates the team’s maturity (systemic intelligence, relational intelligence, collective intelligence) necessary for their implementation.
